1
What is the noise reduction coefficient (NRC) of polyester fiber acoustic panels?
The noise reduction coefficient (NRC) is generally between 0.7 and 1.10. Different thicknesses, densities, and installation methods will affect the specific value; high-quality products can achieve an NRC of over 0.95.
2
How does the density of polyester fiber acoustic panels affect their performance?
Density directly affects sound absorption and physical strength. Higher density means a denser material, resulting in enhanced absorption of low-frequency sounds; lower density panels are lighter, more breathable, and offer better mid-to-high frequency sound absorption. Common density ranges are 160-229 kg/m³, and the specific choice should be based on the application scenario.
3
What is the purpose of the cavity in the back of a polyester fiber sound-absorbing panel?
The cavity in the back, and the spatial sound absorber formed by it, can greatly improve the sound absorption performance of the material. Filling the cavity with sound-absorbing cotton can significantly improve the sound absorption performance, especially the absorption of low-frequency sounds.
4
How effective are polyester fiber acoustic panels in absorbing mid-to-high frequency sounds?
They exhibit significant absorption of mid-to-high frequency sounds (500Hz-4000Hz), with an absorption coefficient exceeding 0.7. This effectively reduces echo and reverberation, improving sound clarity. Within the 125Hz-4000Hz noise range, the absorption coefficient can reach a maximum of 0.8 or higher.
5
Can polyester fiber acoustic panels provide sound insulation? How much noise can they block?
The primary function of polyester fiber acoustic panels is sound absorption, not sound insulation. If the thickness is 25mm or more, the density is high, and the gaps are sealed during installation, they can reduce some airborne noise, but they cannot block structurally transmitted sound (such as footsteps from upstairs transmitted through the floor). Sound absorption and sound insulation are two different acoustic concepts; please choose the appropriate product based on your actual needs.
6
What are the environmental requirements for installing polyester fiber acoustic panels?
The suitable installation environment is a temperature of 15-30°C and a humidity of 40-60%. Avoid installation on damp or undried walls to prevent the panels from warping or becoming moldy.
7
Will an uneven wall surface affect the installation quality of polyester fiber sound-absorbing panels?
Yes. Before installation, the wall surface should be thoroughly prepared to ensure it is flat and clean, thus enhancing the adhesion. An uneven wall surface will result in the panels not adhering tightly to the wall, affecting both sound absorption and aesthetics.
8
What causes polyester fiber acoustic panels to warp after installation?
Warping is usually caused by poor-quality adhesive or uneven application. Use high-quality, environmentally friendly adhesive and apply it evenly. After installation, apply appropriate pressure to ensure a tight bond between the acoustic panels and the adhesive.
9
Why do polyester fiber acoustic panels easily absorb glue? How to solve this?
Polyester fiber acoustic panels are porous materials, making them highly susceptible to glue absorption, which can clog the pores. It is recommended to apply glue to only one side (apply glue only to the wall, using a slightly heavier application than usual), and reinforce with brad nails. This will prevent glue from clogging the sound-absorbing pores and affecting the sound absorption effect.
10
Should gaps be left between polyester fiber acoustic panels during installation?
For keel-type installation, a gap of at least 3mm should be left between panels. For adhesive installation, panels should be tightly aligned, with gaps controlled within 1mm. Requirements vary depending on the installation method; please follow the actual construction plan.
11
Does your US warehouse carry acoustic panels with 3 sides PVC veneer surface?
We only stock 1 side wood veneer panels in our US warehouse, 3 sides PVC surface versions are not available locally.
12
